National Day of Action is THIS Saturday!
Forward to a Friend
Join Us in Conquering Pain Together!
This September has been full of events and activities to spread awareness about the undertreatment of pain. You have all helped to make this year’s Pain Awareness Month a significant one by spreading the word! There is still more you can do. This Saturday, September 26th is the National Day of Action for Pain Awareness. Now, what does that mean? Well, it means that we want to spread the word as far and wide as possible that pain is undertreated and needs the attention it deserves. Pain is one of the leading reasons people seek medical care in this country. What can you still do with the National Day of Action just two days away?

Sign the petition and send it to your networks far and wide. This means your friends, family, colleagues and community members at large. -
-
Make a sign that says, “I COMMIT.” It doesn’t have to be fancy, just legible. Gather with your friends and family and take a picture holding the sign. Upload the photo to the American Pain Foundation’s Flikr account by clicking here or going to http://www.conqueringpaintogether.org/ and clicking on the pink “f.” Let’s show the world the faces of those affected by pain. -
Use your Facebook or Twitter status all day Saturday to say, “Today is the National Day of Action for Pain Awareness. If you or someone you know is affected by pain, please go to http://www.conqueringpaintogether.org/ and sign the petition.” -
Follow APF on Twitter by clicking here. Our user name is conquerpain. Tweet on Saturday about the National Day of Action for Pain Awareness and refer people to our page. -
Host a gathering in your home on Saturday. Share your pain story or your experiences fighting against the stigmas of those affected by pain. Educate people about why this is an issue that needs attention. You can use these key messages to help you. -
If you are a member of an organization, click here to share a message about organizational involvement with your members.
Need support or someone to share your experiences with? PainAid, the American Pain Foundation’s online support community, will be hosting an ALL DAY CHAT on Saturday, September 26th from 9am - 9pm. Come to the chat rooms and talk with others; you are not alone!
Please note: We have upgraded our chat rooms. As of July 10, 2009, you must register separately for new chats. Please register to become a member and log in to future chats. Detailed registration information is available here.
Join us in making the first ever National Day of Action a success! Thank you for all you do!
Sincerely,
